Elizabeth Buchanan is special adviser to Chime. She was Private Secretary to TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall until 2008 when she left to build a portfolio career. Before that she was Press Secretary to Lady Thatcher having begun her career in politics. She was special adviser to two Cabinet Ministers in Mrs Thatcher’s last term in Government.
Elizabeth is also an adviser to Waitrose, Dairy Crest and Nyetimber. She is a trustee of The Prince’s Countryside Fund, sits on the BBC Rural Affairs Committee, is a Senior Associate of The Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership and a trustee of The Smith School for Enterprise and the Environment at Oxford University. She sits on her Parochial Church Council. Elizabeth runs the family organic beef farm in East Sussex.
She is a Commander of The Royal Victorian Order, a Fellow of The Royal Agricultural Societies and holds an honorary degree from the University of Wales.
